Tailored Tuition for Ages 6-16

Your local Kip McGrath Education Centre provides personal Professional Tuition in English and Mathematics. 

Nine times out of ten it is lack of confidence which lies at the root of a child’s failure to make good progress at school. Lack of confidence shows up as reluctance to go to school, apparently “going backwards” instead of making academic progress, or even being bullied,  aggressive or simply becoming miserable.

Our fully Qualified Teachers provide caring, reassuring and supportive tuition, which brings immediate improvement and lasting results across the board.  Our learning materials cover all aspects of two core curriculum subjects.

English

Kip McGrath Professional Tutoring concentrates on reading, writing and spelling.  The materials cover English grammar, punctuation, phonemics, spelling, comprehension, vocabulary and written expression.

Mathematics

The Kip McGrath Mathematics programme inspires confidence and understanding.  The materials support children who need to catch up, reinforce core mathematical skills, or extend themselves further in the subject.  The areas covered include number work, mental maths, decimals, fractions, percentages, algebra and geometry.

Structured Lessons
Every time a child attends a Kip McGrath session, the lesson has been prepared in advance, according to his or her individual needs.  We take great care to establish the child's needs at the outset, to plan an individually tailored learning programme based on addressing those needs, and we regularly monitor progress and  achievement.

Each session lasts 80 minutes and includes, on average, five or six different activities, lasting around 12 minutes.  Sessions tend to end with a computer-based game, based on English and Maths skills.  The activities are split between computer and paper-based tasks and  children work in their own workspace, on their own computer.
